Internship
Wilderness Empowerment offers a unique internship program for graduating students taking up Hotel and Restaurant Management with the possibility of placement in any of our partner institutions worldwide upon graduation.
An internship is work or a project related to a student’s major or field for a substantial period of time. The goal of an internship is for the student to learn and gain practical experience in a specific field. The internship is a supervised work/learning experience; it should be meaningful for both the company, organization and the student. A typical time period for an internship ranges from 1 to 2 semesters. Internships have been identified as a means to help students compete in today’s job market.
Internship Requirements
The student must have completed at least six semesters in a hospitality related program or course from a qualified academic institution. It is the intern’s responsibility, and a program requirement, to attend work meetings, respond to requests and check in with the college program faculty supervisor(academic liaison) and mentor, as per established schedule. This allows monitoring of student progress and also provides coordinators with valuable feedback for the program. In addition, the students’ conduct, both in and out of the place of internship should always conform to acceptable established professional behavior.
